Let's be honest. Mums do a lot. Probably everything, if I'm being accurate about it. The cooking, the remembering, the emotional labour, the finding things that were never lost, the somehow-always-knowing. All of it.
And once a year, the calendar taps us on the shoulder and says: maybe do something properly nice in return. This year especially, habibi. The world feels heavy right now, and the people who hold everything together deserve to feel that. So let's make it count. No gas station chocolates. No wilting flowers grabbed in a panic ten minutes before you show up. We're talking about actually, genuinely treating her.
The bottle she'd never pick for herself
There's something really special about staying in when it's done right. The good plates out, a bottle she didn't expect, her favourite meal on the table. Someone actually thought about it. That part, habibi, is the whole point.
The tricky bit? Picking the right bottle. Because Mum is not a monolith. She has a whole personality, opinions, a signature drink she'd never deviate from, and one she'd absolutely love if someone just put it in front of her. Here's where I'd start.
You know her. She walks into a room and within four minutes she's on first-name terms with the bartender, the table next to her, and possibly the chef. She doesn't need help having a good time, but Lady A Rosé will make it even better. It's the bottle that disappears fast at any table, which she will take as a personal compliment. Want to really go for it? The Nyetimber Rosé Multi-Vintage is a stunning English sparkling rosé that'll make her feel like the main character she absolutely is.

Her home looks like a magazine shoot. She has opinions about glassware. She once returned a candle because the scent was "a little obvious." She deserves Gérard Bertrand Côtes des Roses Rosé, a wine that comes in a bottle with a rose embossed at the base, because obviously it does. For full occasion mode, Mumm Rosé brings the champagne energy she's always had and has never once needed to borrow from anyone.

She laughs the loudest, hits the dance floor first, and somehow makes even a Tuesday feel like an occasion worth dressing up for. Château d'Esclans Rock Angel is a Provence rosé that matches her energy entirely. If she's more of a G&T woman, Malfy Gin Rosa is an Italian pink gin with notes of grapefruit and Sicilian citrus that she will order on repeat and eventually just keep at home.

She's already three steps ahead of everyone in the room, her calendar is colour-coded, and she is somehow doing four things at once right now, including reading this. Château Galoupet Cru Classé is an organically certified Provence rosé that's elegant enough to keep up with her. Or grab The Gardener Gin, a beautifully crafted botanical gin that's considered, a little unexpected, and honestly very her.

She books the trip nobody else would think of, orders the thing on the menu she can't pronounce, and has at least one story that starts with "so I was in the middle of nowhere and..." Komos Reposado Rosa is made for her, habibi. A premium Mexican rosé tequila aged in French wine barrels, with a story she'll want to tell and a bottle she'll want to keep on the shelf long after it's empty.

And if she doesn't drink or prefers something without alcohol, MMI carries a brilliant range of non-alcoholic options that are genuinely sophisticated and miles away from sparkling water with a sad lemon wedge. She deserves better than that. We all do.
Set the table. Cook her favourite meal. Open something good. Let the bottle do some of the talking for you.
If she'd rather be out in the city than at home, Dubai's restaurant scene gives you absolutely no excuse for a forgettable evening. And MMI's Cheers United initiative makes that easier on the wallet, too. Exclusive discounts at some of Dubai's best bars, hotels, beach clubs, and restaurants are now in your MMI Cheers Club App (and more are added every day!), so you can book somewhere properly good without the quiet panic when the bill arrives.

Think Bussola, O Beach, Taj JLT, Nikki Beach Club, Aura Skypool, Jules Bar, McGettigans and many more! Good for her, good for the venue, and honestly, good for you.
Book somewhere she's been wanting to try. Let her order whatever she wants off the menu. Don't you dare rush through dessert.
For the night in: one of the bottles above, good food, her choice of film, zero interruptions. She will remember it.
For the night out: browse Cheers United, make a proper reservation, and for once in your life, habibi, let her pick the wine.
For the mum who insists she doesn't want anything: a well-chosen bottle with a card that actually says something will always land. Always. Check out MMI's greeting cards designed by the talented Laura Tomlinson (another mum!) available alongside your order, because a bottle that arrives with real words attached is a completely different gift from one that just shows up.
Mother's Day in the UAE is on 21st March. The window is now, habibi. Head into any MMI store, ask the team (they know their bottles and they will not steer you wrong), or shop online and get it sorted.
She does a lot. Probably everything. This is genuinely the least we can do.
